FIM Traverse City Competition

Blaze had an awesome competition this past weekend at Traverse City Central HS for the FIM TC Event. Qualification matches ended with us ranked as 28th, but we made an amazing comeback Saturday afternoon. Blaze was selected by Team 3603 (Cyber Coyotes) to compete alongside them in the playoff matches. Also selected was Team 5534 (Onaway Onabots). Playing as Alliance 5, Boyne City Blaze fought their way all the way to the finals, staying in the upper bracket. Ultimately, Blaze fell to Alliance 2 and finshed as a district event finialist. Boyne City Blaze was also awarded the 'Team Sustainibility Award' which honors the team's dedication to their program and community.

Blaze would like to thank our Alliance partners (3603 & 5534) for an amazing competition! We hope to continue our season at the state competition later this month!

FIM Calvin University Competition

This past weekend BC Blaze competed in the Week 1 Calvin University Competition. Among the 39 other teams that participated, Blaze finished the 80 qualification matches in 7th, giving us the opportunity to be the captain of the 5th alliance in the playoffs. We played alongside teams 6753 (CBA RoboKings), 7226 (Error 404), and 7155 (The Robotic Rangers). Boyne City Blaze was eliminated in the quarterfinals but had an amazing showing of skills and determination at the Calvin event. Special congratulations to the entire team for being awarded with the District Engineering Inspiration Award and to our Safety Captain Will Minnaar for being named the Safety All-Star of the competition.

Boyne City Blaze is looking forward to our week 3 competition in Traverse City!
